Back in Istanbul

Finally we are continuing our journey. After 8 weeks at home we fly with Basco back to Istanbul – with mixed feelings after this huge earthquake disaster in the south east of Turkey, around 800 km from Istanbul.

Around 12 million people in Turkey and Syrië are affected by the earthquake, 60-70% from their housings are destroyed or not habitable anymore, . It’s actual around -20C degrees during the night in this area, machines get stuck because of the freezing temperature, people sleeping in tents. People getting evacuated from this area and are taken care where and however possible all over the country. We feel and hear the desperation – what a drama.
Some of Ünsal’s mechanical employees are in the catastrophe area to help and to keep the digger and excavators running.

Ünsal took care off the Mog and it looks good and runs perfectly… Only the intercooler has to get repaired. So we spend the night at his workplace and spending time together with Ünsal and his family. So nice to see them back.
