It is just a very tiny device but it saves us from a lott of discusions, the Chinese WitMotion WT9011DCL inclinometer. This little device shows us exactly our pitch and roll inside the cabin!

Most of the times, after some hours driving, when we park we are tired and just want to stop. In 98% of the times we wild camp, so we need to find a more or less level spot so we can cook, relax and sleep. Our experience is that more then 3% off level is causing us problems.
So first we used a pitch and roll app installed on our phone in a holder on the dashboard. But this gives to problems. The phone holder is often off in some degrees and the cab is often not on the same angle as the cabin so the drivers cab may be level, the living unit is not at all.

Our Unimog is famous for the torx in the chassis. This means that there can be a lot of difference between the level in the drivers cab or in the living unit.
With the Witmotion WT9011DCL sensor, euro 18,-, placed in one of the cub boards fed via USB-C and connected via bluetooth to my navigation iPad we can see exactly how the levels are. Only down side is that the values we need are only X and Y and these are shown small and not in a nice view. So it all looks very technical.
We rather had a nice plain view of a car/truck with only these to angles.
The sensor is:
- 16 gram
- Bluetooth
- Android and IOS app
- USB-C 16mA
- On board battery 130mAH 40 hours
- 32,5 mm x 23,5 mm and height 11,4 mm
