Since we started our journey driving east we stopped using Garmin and fell totally in love with OSMAND.

OSMAND uses Openstreetmap as a source and is just great for offline use.

Maps are free and also show height lines which make it a lot easier to plan drives and hikes.

We use it on iPad and iPhone, offering highly detailed offline maps that are perfect for exploring new places without worrying about internet connectivity. With OsmAnd, I get turn-by-turn navigation that guides me through both urban and rural areas with ease.

The app is packed with features that cater to various outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and even skiing.

I can customize the maps to highlight specific points of interest, save my favorite places for quick access, and even use the app for offline navigation, which is incredibly useful when I’m in remote areas with no cell service. The ability to download maps for entire countries or regions means I can plan my trips in advance and have all the information I need right at my fingertips.

OsmAnd also supports various map layers, including topographic maps, which are great for outdoor enthusiasts like me. The app’s user-friendly interface and regular updates ensure that I always have the most accurate and up-to-date information, making it an essential tool for my adventures. Whether I’m navigating through a bustling city or trekking through a remote mountain range, OsmAnd provides the reliability and functionality I need to explore with confidence.
