Because the weather is really bad in the mountains of North Albania we decide to take more or less the direct route in direction North Macedonia where at least the weather forecast seems to be much better. We want to enter Albania later again on our way to Greece. Albania is one of the poorest countries of Europe, with a suppressing history, with still a lot of corruption and crime money dictating the country. We feel a huge difference with Montenegro from the moment we entered the country. A lot of big cars, preferred Mercedes and Audi – on the other side slums, garbage and very simple life in the streets. The people are kind of more skeptical – until you get in touch with them – they shake hands, are warm and laughing and are very friendly. Don’t know if it’s only the bad weather that makes it a bit depressing – because the landscape is again amazing to drive through.
